God of the Ages was the first song published by Red Tie Music. Written by Travis Doucette, God of the Ages has travelled the globe as an anthem of praise built out of Colossians 1. Written in 2007, and originally part of a project called “Give Love Away” recorded by Liberty ministry team, Exodus, God of the Ages has become a favorite at Thomas Road Baptist Church. The song has also become a standard in the repertoire of Charles Billingsley, whose radio version was the #2 Inspirational Song of the Year in 2009.
Perhaps one of his most well-known compositions, Doucette refers to the song as “a gift from God”. He notes, “the strength of the song rests not on the power of a manmade lyric, but on the power and authority of God’s Word – there is something incredibly powerful when God’s timeless, authoritative Word is set to music”.
